5 Steps to Quickly Declutter Your Space
Everyone struggles with decluttering and motivating themselves to get started every now and then so here are 5 steps to quickly get some decluttering over and done with!
Set a timer
Set a timer for however long you want. We would recommend 15 to 30 minutes and if you find once the timers up you want to carry on, then you can do so!
Knowing that you’ll only have to tidy for 15 minutes can improve your motivation to do so and most of the time you’ll want to keep going once you have started.
2. Create a Pile
Take all the items from the cluttered area and put them in a pile.
3. Do a Quick Sort
Go through the pile and put each item in one of these 4 clutter categories (Keep, Toss, Donate, Relocate)
4. Wipe and Replace
Quickly wipe down the area so it’s clean and put all of your keep items back where they live. Ideally putting them neatly into storage boxes.
5. Final Review of the Space
Put your relocate items in their new home and then step back and review the space. Is there anything you need that could prevent the space from cluttering up e.g. storage boxes, shelving etc. Then take care of your donate and toss items.
